Race event details
Organized by the Treasure Valley Family YMCA and sponsored by the Idaho Potato Commission, this marathon and half marathon is one of Idaho’s signature marathon and half marathon events. The half and full marathon course begin at Lucky Peak and run into town along the Boise River that takes runnersand walkersalong parks, trails, bridges and beautifulscenic views.
Runnersand walkerspass through Barber Park, BagleyPark and the Warm Springs Golf Course along the mostly flat and fast terrainwith an elevation drop of about 200 feet. Organizers report that the Famous Idaho Potato race's popularity has grown significantly in recent years, as the number of registered participants jumped from just over 1,500 in 2008 to roughly 1,900 for all four races combined in 2009.
